Clutter - A Poem by Stuart Randall

Clutter

Why am I loth to clear

the clutter from my life?

The barriers of books

blocking my working space,

the logjam of files and folders

clustered in cabinet drawers

impeding the free flow of thought.

Objects accumulate to crowd out

reflective surfaces and jostle for space

with incongruous neighbours.

If I were to clear the flotsam

from shelf and sideboard,

unclog files, release rubbish,

fresh currents could flood

through my mind, my life.
