On
an evening when heat hovered and sun competed with shade, Moorside
Writers were going places. With the lively assistance of music from A
Little Jazz, poetry and prose readings took the audience on a journey
from the wild beauty of The Peak District to New Zealand, and back
again.
Stopping off along the way in Ipanema, Tunisia,
Vermont and New York, the band ended the performance with a vivacious
performance of The Sheik of Araby.
The audience went home from St. Thomas’s
Church Centre, Chesterfield with smiles on their faces.
If you’d like another opportunity to share the
pleasures of travelling in words and music, the next performance will
be on Friday September 26th
at The Peel Centre, Dronfield, Derbsyhire.
